These are the plain terms for reading this website and the Sunday letter. It is sample text: replace it with your own before you publish.

01The writing

The essays, notes and photographs on this site are mine unless a credit says otherwise. You are welcome to quote a few lines with a link back; please ask before you republish a whole piece.

02The newsletter

The Sunday letter is free. I may change how often it comes or stop it, and I will always say so in a letter first. You can unsubscribe at any time.

03Letters you send

When you write to me, I may quote a short line in a letter or an essay only with your permission, and never with your full name unless you say yes.

04Links

Some essays link to other websites and books. I do not control those pages and they have their own terms.

05Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them.
